Wagner Leitmotifs | 9 Rhine Wave : Der Ring Des Nibelungen @wagnerleitmotifs7654 | Uploaded September 2013 | Updated October 2024, 14 hours ago.
This leitmotif is first heard in scene 1 of Das Rheingold.

This motif represents the fast flowing waves of the river Rhine. The first three notes of each bar are a major arpeggio from the Rhine or Nature motif, and the melody forms an undulating line like a wave. This motif is heard in conjunction with the Rheingold motif.
