Wagner Leitmotifs | 41 Salvation : Tannhäuser @wagnerleitmotifs7654 | Uploaded July 2014 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
This leitmotif is first heard in act 3 scene 3.

This motif, again, as throughout the opera, takes on the character of a hymn. It is sung just after Tannhäuser has died, having been redeemed by Elizabeth as Saint. The second half is taken from the Pardon motif.
