This is the awesome VW Polo 4x4 K24 Turbo of Lee Thompson, one of the monsters that has evolved the most in the highly competitive South African HillClimb scene and specially at Simola. Built by Quentin Boylan, one of the contry´s most respected Race Engineers, it uses plenty of Drag Racing expertise right from its Honda K24 Turbo engine producing over 800Hp and specially to its transmission, using a Quaife 4WD specially built for Honda K24 application,with quaife angle drive connected to gearbox along with a Propshaft connect to a BMW rear differential. It also uses a completely bespoke Aero package, with it´s most proeminent feature being the Active Rear Wing as can be seen in our Clip.
It ended up retiring early due to the tragedy that happened during this last Simola HillClimb (Mr. Boylan was also the engineer or Pieter Joubert´s AMG Lotus..) but expect it to come back and start fighting for Overall Victory in the Modified Saloon Class.
