80/20's transition plates are not only easy to install, but also require no machining. They come in fractional, metric, and are available across a wide range of profile series. As you can see, the plates come in a wide variety of shapes, and sizes, making it one of the more versatile fastening options 80/20 offers.
Now one thing you'll want to keep in mind when using the transition plate, is you're going to need bolt assemblies to install it. Recommended bolt assemblies for all transition plates can be found in the 80/20 product catalog. Now when it comes to installing the transition plate, the first thing you're going to want to do, is preload your hardware. Preloading not only makes it easier to install the transition plate, but also saves you time during assembly. To save additional time, you're going to want to look for opportunities where you can substitute out a single T-nut for a double T-nut.
To get started, we'll take our transition plate with preloaded hardware in it, put one last bolt in it, and one last T-nut. Now the important thing when installing the T-nut, is to make sure the pilot hole is facing downwards. Get that on there. We'll take our first bar, and slide the plate right on. We'll get it lined up, take our wrench, and tighten it down. From there, we'll take our other bar, and slide it right on. Once we have the lined up, we'll take our other wrench, and tighten down those two bolts.
