The 4-hole tall gusseted inside corner bracket is a strong, external fastening method that creates a 90 degree connection. Each side of the bracket has two holes stacked one on top of the other. It requires no machining services and can provide infinite positioning along the profile T-slot, allowing a large degree of adjustability. Today we are going to take a look at the central connector. This fastening method is a great choice for a strong connection with adjustability. Its available in fractional, metric, and compatible across a wide range of profile series. Now the central connector comes in three parts. You have the bolt, the barrel nut, and the spring. Now one thing youll want to keep in mind when using the central connector, is one of your bars is going to need machined with a counterbore service, and a hole drilled in the center cavity. Now when it comes to installing the central connector, youree going to start with your barrel and place it into the counterbore service, making sure the hole faces out towards the end of the profile. Next well take our bolt, place the spring over it. From there well take our bolt and place it in the center cavity with the indent facing up towards the barrel. Well line it up, and slightly engage it with our wrench. From there well take the other bar, and slide the connector in. Find our desired location, and tighten down with our wrench. Now the great thing about the central connector, is its adjustability. If you need a new location on the bar, simply loosen up the central connector, find your new location on the bar, and tighten down firmly again. A flat plate can be used for a stand-alone fastening method, or to reinforce another fastening method. Here you can see a small sample of the many flat plates that 80/20 offers. As you can see, the plates come in a wide variety of shapes, and sizes, making it one of the more versatile fastening methods 80/20 offers. Now one thing youll want to keep in mind when using the flat plate is, youll need bolt assemblies to install it. Recommended bolt assemblies for all flat plates, can be found in the 80/20 product catalog. Now when it comes to installing the flat plate, the first thing youll want to do is preload your hardware. Preloading not only makes it easier to install your flat plate, but also saves time during assembly. To save additional time and money, youll want to look for opportunities where you can substitute out a single T-nut, for double and triple T-nuts, like in this example. Now to get started, well take our plate with the preloaded hardware on it, and finish it up by putting the last bolt in it. Well take our T-nut and put it on. Now, youll want to make sure when using the T-nut, you have the pilot hole facing downwards. Well get that on there. At this point were ready for our bars. Well slide the flat plate on. Today we are going to take a look at deadbolt latches. These latches are perfect for guarding and enclosure applications. They are easy to install and available in both fractional and metric. Now one great thing about this latch is that it requires no machining, and comes with all recommended mounting hardware. Now to get started, we are going to finish preloading our bolt side with one last bolt and one last T-nut. Now it’s important to note that when you’re putting on the T-nut, to have the pilot projection facing away from the bolt. Get that on there. We’ll just take our frame here. We’ll slide it into the open T-slot, find where we want to put it, and take our wrench and tighten it down. Now we’ll just take the latch side and slide it into the other open T-slot. We’ll line it up with our bolt, and we’ll latch it together. Once we have the latched together, we’ll go ahead and tighten down the latch side. Now once you have that tightened down, you have a strong secure connection. Now it’s worth noting that this latch also comes in a 90 degree style, which is going to prevent any snagging on your lever when it’s engaged. Today we’re going to take a look at the adjustable floor lock. This floor lock is perfect for locking applications with casters, into place. It’s available in both fractional and metric, it’s adjustable, and requires no machining. However, a base plate and a bolt assembly is required. More information on 80/20’s recommended bolt assemblies can be found in the 80/20 product catalog. Now when it comes to installing the floor lock, we’re going to start with our base plate. We already got it attached to our profile and tightened down. Grab our floor lock. Position it over the base plate. We’ll grab our bolts and start tightening them down. Now once we have those tightened down, we’re going to want to adjust the height of our floor lock that what we need. We’ll simply spin the base to the desired height that we need. From there, we’ll move our floor lock into position. We’ll go ahead and press down on this lever, and that will engage the floor lock into position. Now when you are done with your floor lock, or need to move your application, you’ll simply hit this red lever with your foot, and that’ll release, or disengage the floor lock.
