Hello and welcome to 80/20’s product highlight series. Today we are going to take a look at deadbolt latches. These latches are perfect for guarding and enclosure applications. They are easy to install and available in both fractional and metric.
Now one great thing about this latch is that it requires no machining, and comes with all recommended mounting hardware. Now to get started, we are going to finish preloading our bolt side with one last bolt and one last T-nut.
Now it’s important to note that when you’re putting on the T-nut, to have the pilot projection facing away from the bolt. Get that on there. We’ll just take our frame here. We’ll slide it into the open T-slot, find where we want to put it, and take our wrench and tighten it down. Now we’ll just take the latch side and slide it into the other open T-slot. We’ll line it up with our bolt, and we’ll latch it together.
Once we have the latched together, we’ll go ahead and tighten down the latch side. Now once you have that tightened down, you have a strong secure connection. Now it’s worth noting that this latch also comes in a 90 degree style, which is going to prevent any snagging on your lever when it’s engaged.
