potholer54 | 8 -- Human Evolution Made Easy (for schools) @potholer54 | Uploaded February 2009 | Updated October 2024, 1 day ago.
Part 8 of the series that shows the evidence for our origins -- from the big bang to the human migration out of Africa.
PLEASE NOTE: My reference to "opposable thumbs" in this video is confusing and badly worded. All apes have opposable thumbs, but only in humans can the thumb swing across the palm and touch the small and ring fingers, giving us exceptional dexterity that apes don't have, and which can be seen in some hominid fossils. This is technically known as "ulnar opposition." Rather than spend time explaining this in the video, I've decided to take the words "opposable thumbs" out of the DVD being distributed for schools.
The "adult" version -- the original Made easy series -- can now be uploaded as a BitTorrent. Check my channel for details. Please download and seed!
