Akron police are investigating a shooting at a gas station that left a 63-year-old man dead Sunday morning.
The Akron Police Department said in a press release that officers responded to the Circle K on South Arlington Street just after 6:30 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a 63-year-old man who had been shot in the face.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. In new details released Monday morning, the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as 63-year-old Rickie Essick.
Witnesses told police they heard "multiple gunshots," according to the press release.
