ICE deported 5-year-old Liam Tadeo and his father to Mexico after the father agreed to leave the U.S. rather than remain detained with his son in Texas, according to the family’s attorney. The attorney says the father repeatedly asked ICE officers to release Liam to his mother during an Austin traffic stop earlier this month, but ICE refused. Video that circulated online showed the boy crying beside his handcuffed father as they were detained on the way to a soccer game.
