#3 of my 4 video series on the 5-loop braid. This shows the flat variation of the square braid. I start by showing how to make a divided section (2-braids-at-once), which creates a loop or buttonhole in your braid. Then I join the divided section into a flat, wide braid, which is a slightly different method than braiding a square braid. Part 4 will show tips for making the braid come out extra flat and wide, and also show how I finish the braid with another loop/ buttonhole at the end of the braid.
These videos supplement a tutorial on my Loop Braiding blog: loopbraider.wordpress.com/2011/06/05/5-loop-v-fell-fingerloop-braids-cobbled-together-tutorial-video
(http://loopbraider.wordpress.com).
See my blog for more about loop braiding, including how to make braids of several yards/ meters in length, how to make and plan different color patterns, how to start braids with no loose ends at the top of the braid, and more.
