A new year is the perfect time to rethink how you use Linux.

If you’ve been using Linux for a while, you probably feel comfortable already. You know how to install distros, use the terminal, manage packages, and troubleshoot basic issues. But at some point, just “using Linux” starts to feel stagnant.

So what should your Linux goals for 2026 look like?

In this video, I talk about five realistic and meaningful resolutions that can help Linux users move beyond the basics and gain deeper, long-term skills.

These aren’t about distro hopping or cosmetic tweaks — they’re about understanding Linux at a system level and using it in more powerful ways.

These are my resolutions, but surely, they can help you as well.

You don’t need to do everything at once.

Pick one or two goals. Commit to it in 2026. And go deeper than you ever have before.
