Now we are FIVE NIGHTS in on the #TheGreatMilkyWayChase challenge of doing Milky Way Photography for 23 Straight Nights and we were faced with a major challenge on the 5th night with our first clouds!
After recording the Podcast with Dan Bailey, Brendon and I needed to go somewhere close so we went out to the Payson Temple to show what it is like bringing a Milky Way out of a Light Polluted area. But low clouds made the light pollution WAY WORSE so we had to last minute find a Plan B.
Plan B became drive away from the clouds hanging on the west side of the Wasatch Front Mountains and drive through Spanish Fork Canyon looking for an opportunity at Red Ledges a place we had never been before!
Confident walking around turning into wandering and desperate hiking looking for an option that showed more of the Milky Way Core AND gave us something of interest in the foreground. Before we knew it we were crammed together on a ledge with a rock wall and awesome tree that paralleled the Milky Way angle and it turned out great!
Keep checking back on the adventure as I go for 23 straight nights of Milky Way Photography! Night 6 I went solo again and had my own couple of setbacks that lead to an impromptu Car Trails shot! Thanks for following!
