Time to use what we get with the truck, with a creative twist. And with a bit of an effort, it really doesn't have to break the bank to set yourself apart from the crowd.
At $ 329.- getting the Axial scale experience with the SCX102 chassis has never been more affordable than it is with the Trail Honcho. A few updates in the axle and link design, along with a more budget friendly Tactic radio, make the new Trail Honcho one of the most attractive ready-to-run RC trail trucks available in my opinion.
I started out with an Axial Dingo kit when I initially got into RC crawling, but wanted to have the Honcho look, so for me it is awesome to see this classic back on the market. There are many uses for the rear cage of the Honcho, and combined with the Toyota Tacoma inspired cab section in a nice off white colour it looks great.
Stiff plastic links, single piece axle housings with a reinforced truss section and the use of the AX10 transmission case offer a solid base, along with all the electronics that we've seen proven in the other SCX102 platforms, as the Trail Honcho shares a lot of parts with the other versions, the Cherokees and the CRC JK.
