Camping coffee is important. EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. For me, it has to be easy, fast and good. But when we're camping, I'm willing to make some sacrifices in the GOOD if it means it's easier and faster. Thankfully, with the Aerobie, AeroPress I don't really have to compromise on anything, much.
The AeroPress makes coffee by extracting finely ground coffee in hot water, then forcing it through a filter with positive pressure. I use the AeroPress at home to make a strong cup of very black coffee. The ore pressure you use the more like espresso it is. In this video I take the basic strong coffee from the AeroPress and dilute with hot water to make a more normal strength coffee or Americano.
Certainly not the fastest way to make coffee away from home, this method is made a LOT faster with the use of the JetBoil Backpacker Stove. This compact stove stored in the space of a water bottle, lights up quickly and heats water in about 2 minutes.
