~ Info:
Brainstorm is a 1.9 GDPS solo and the debut solo Extreme Demon by EliseCat. Man, I have been really wanting to speak my mind on this level. The level showcases Elise's experimental practices with 1.9 arts and effects while being paired with some incredibly difficulty and mind-bending gameplay. Giving you quite the brainstorm if you'd say.

~ Gameplay Review:
This gameplay is incredibly difficult. I can't even begin to say just how hard this is because I seriously has a frustrating time to bot it. What's actually crazy is that once you learn a section, you actually grow consistency at it, making this gameplay actually come off as quite satisfying to play once you get the hang of it. Super smooth to play off. I do also admire how Elise works with 1.9 gameplay and although it showcases the typical, "makes wave section hard" I like how some gameplay aspects actually rely on you having to memorize your route through gameplay sections that aren't a wave. Like most of the cube and ship section. All of which are an amalgam of timing and memory. Wave sections consist more of speed and tight spaces, and UFO section are more on the timing clicks. The gameplay is honestly the perfect blend of both skill, memory and timing.

~ Deco Review:
Oh, I have been waiting to rip into this masterpiece. Brainstorm easily has one of my favorite art established atmospheres out of any 1.9 solo / debut I have seen to date. I love how the level feels like your actually in the mind of the player as you traverse through it but at the same time you feel like you're in a computer or a robot trying to compute a way out of it. Simply is just phenomenal. Elise does her best to stem away from relying on structures that don't stand out as too blocky and uses way more intricate assets to really follow the flow of the gameplay. A perfect is example of this is the curvy ship section right at the first drop, easily comes off as one of the smoothest sections in the level. All the art showcased is also just jaw dropping, especially when you remember that this comes from the same update as levels like Bloodbath and Supersonic. The mixing of both a human brain and the feeling of an interface of a computer mixing together in one is just an amazing concept. The level truly feels alive in that way.
I also got to say that I am in love with the color blends Elise uses from section to section. Seeing how the level can turn from a high tech and circuit looking blue to almost a natural skin and deep blood red is super impressive to me as it doesn't reset the environment the level sets and really has a clean and clear dynamic.
The level has its moments of being slightly empty or sections that feel that could use more. Such as ground spikes that linger as a giant black void, but I know she relies on black object lining to really convey the effects she uses, so I understand that hardships of trying to make that happen.
