In 2013, 4Chan became absolutely enraged after a user named Walter_Easly filmed himself kicking his helpless pet cat, Boots, then releasing the footage on Vine for all to see.
Once the video went viral, 4Chan users sprang into action. The mission was clear: find the abuser and rescue the cat — so they got to work.
Because Walter’s name and face were on the Vine account, 4Chan had an easy time tracking him down to Cordova, South Carolina. 4Chan then released all of his personal information to the public, including his home address and phone number.
But Walter laughed at 4Chan, thinking that they were just a bunch of useless internet nerds. He then doubled down and threatened to kick more cats for his entertainment, and there was nothing 4Chan could do about it.
