This video features some brief action from days 4 & 7 of the Great Britain steam tour with a couple of loco failures which restricted our plans. Regardless of the failures the show kept well on road with full marks to West Coast Railways, the Bahamas support crew and Network Rail for clearing the use of 45596 'Bahamas' on the Scottish parts of the tour.
We pick up day four at Frodsham with Bahamas at the helm. We did plan to head North to pick up 46115 but with the tour running 50 minutes late we decided against this as it wasn't guaranteed we'd make it. 46115 was eventually declared a fail after running hot at Lockerbie. With Day 4 curtailed we headed out on day 7 to catch the unusual sight of double headed Jubilees. But a little after 8.30am the news had come through that Galatea had also run hot and would be removed from the train. Thankfully we had 45690 'Leander' to fall back on and it was in good form. Leander was captured at Bamber Bridge, Walk Mill at the bottom of Copy Pit and further up near the summit. The weather was very windy but bright, though to say conditions deteriorated later on was an understatement. The final shot in the pouring rain at Kirkham Abbey topped off another and usual challenging GB tour for us. No doubt everyone on board has enjoyed themselves with the superb weather in Scotland which was on offer.
