This is part a snippet from a much larger course called, 3ds Max + V-Ray: Advanced Architectural Exteriors

Here we are experimenting with adding detail to our model, specifically a scattering of leaves. For this, we use Forest Pack Pro from itoosoft, and also built in 3ds Max tools from the Ribbon menus, namely object paint. Both these tools are essential for scattering objects, like leaves, randomly around your scene. It could also be trash or other small details. I use Forest Pack PRO to scatter things over large areas, then I go into some finer details by painting objects on to specific areas with the ribbon object paint tools.
