Jean Ward | 3D RENDER Huge "Sundial"-Like Artifact in Lowell on Mars @JeanWard | Uploaded June 2023 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
The photograph analyzed here (PSP_006771_1285) was acquired by NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter on 06 January 2008 and is described as ‘Lowell Crater Northern Rim.’
Here I feature a 3D render I created of, what I speculate, might be a part of a Sundial-Like structure with much of it buried in the sand around it at a site in Aonia Terra. From the elevation of the sun (data provided by NASA) and the length of the shadow it works out to be approximately 11 metres tall.

The two hemispheres of Mars are dramatically different from each other—a characteristic not seen on any other planet in our solar system:
