Today I’m testing something completely different — the PollyFab FLUX, a 5D-printed sneaker built using Hyper Air™ Tech and their ELASTO 1000 BIO material — a USDA-certified bio-based elastomer that’s flexible, tough, and surprisingly comfortable.

These shoes are printed as a single continuous structure — no glue, no foam, no stitching. The result? A breathable, lattice-style trainer that can literally be washed under a tap, dries in minutes, and feels like wearing future tech on your feet.

In this video, I unbox them, wear them to the gym, drive over them, drop kettlebells on them (don’t ask 😂), and then give them the ultimate real-world test: washing them out after all that abuse.

PollyFab claims their Hyper Air Tech boosts energy return by 86 %, absorbs 40 % more impact at 5 m/s, and reduces knee joint load by up to 20 % compared to traditional foams — and honestly, after a week of testing, I can see why. The FLUX model focuses on stability, while the AREO line emphasizes ultra-light comfort — both leveraging that same 3D-printed lattice system that’s caught the attention of big names like Louis Vuitton, Cole Haan, LI-NING, and PEAK.

What’s fascinating to me is how this kind of technology democratizes design — we’re at a point where your next pair of shoes could literally be printed to your stride, your weight, or even your climate. And if this is what’s possible in 2025, imagine what we’ll be wearing in 2030.
