Continuous fiber can add a lot of strength, stiffness, impact-resistant to parts, as well as maintaining the shape under pressure. Sometimes it is useful to visualize the difference between a reinforced part and a non-reinforced part.

While Onyx from Markforged offers impressive stiffness and strength, the addition of continuous fibre can improve these properties exponentially. The more layers of continuous fibre that you can add to a part, the more stiffness and strength you can achieve.

When designing a part, you should consider how much carbon fibre reinforcement you need. Take a look at this 1 minute video by Anthony Rosengren, Application Engineer for the APAC team, on how different amounts of continuous fibre by using shelling technique perform against non reinforced parts.
