This short video is just a few short clips from my first "activation" of a park for the amateur radio Parks on the Air (POTA) activity. This is where hams will setup at a designated park and setup a station (activator) and try to make a number of contacts with other hams (hunters and other activators). This was my first time being an activator. I was at Barnegat Light State Park, on the north end of Long Beach Island off the coast of NJ (Park K-1609). Learn more about Parks on the Air here:
