Today, I welcome you to a stroll in Thessaloniki with us — Alexandra, Dimitris, and our friend Giannis.
On this channel, I usually speak slowly and clearly in a teaching mode, just for you. But unfortunately (or fortunately!), native speakers don’t do that. I don’t want you to think that everyone in Greece speaks like me!
Native speakers talk faster — in every language, not just Greek. They often shorten syllables and talk over each other. I know that can sometimes be frustrating, but the truth is: native speakers can’t slow down just to train us.
We, as language learners, are responsible for improving our listening skills by practising with real, everyday Greek — and that’s exactly what we’re doing today! We're speaking at a natural pace with our friend Giannis. We're chatting about the Do You Speak Greek? channel, the weather, the Greek islands, and more!
This video is filmed in 360 degrees, which means you can see everything around us.
That way, you’ll feel like you’re right here in Greece with us — strolling along the paralia!
Remember how to use the video:
1. Turn the video quality to the highest setting on your device for the best experience.
2. If you are watching from your computer:
Use your mouse to click and drag the screen, allowing you to look around in every direction.
You can also use the arrow keys or the keyboard’s WASD keys to navigate the video.
