CassetteMaster | 32: Capacitor Timer @CassetteMaster | Uploaded 4 years ago | Updated 8 hours ago
Project 32 from the 200-in-One Electronic Project Lab Kit from Radioshack/Tandy.
Built on breadboard, as the old kit was gutted for spare parts years ago, and I have always preferred breadboards to the spring terminals anyway.
Turn on the power, and after a short delay, the relay clicks. That delay is a bit shorter than I expected, so I show operation with LEDs to make it more clear, then increase the capacity from 200µF (the parallel 100µF capacitors) to 1000µF (a value not originally provided in the kit) to make for a longer delay, also shown with LEDs.
Remember, I am not the author of the original circuits or the text! It is from the kit's manual. I am building the projects to show them operate. I plan to go all the way to the last project over time............
