If you’ve done this woodworking for a while, you know how quickly your collection of stains, glues and finishes can grow.
Bottles and cans get lost, things are never where you thought you put them...it's frustrating. And when winter rolls in, cold temps can wreck your glues and finishes, turning them into useless sludge.
That’s why I built this—a space-saving storage cabinet designed to protect everything.
A traditional shelf takes up a ton of wall space, but this clam-style design folds open, doubling your storage while keeping a compact footprint. It holds everything you need, but when closed, it’s no bigger than a toolbox.
But that’s just the first layer. On my second channel, I created a few different layers to this project. After you've built your clam style cabinet, add a front, hidden, shadowbox system for brushes, tape and other finishing tools.
And if you’ve ever grabbed a frozen bottle of glue on a cold morning, you already know why portability matters. When the thermometer on the front hits the danger zone, just unhook the cabinet from the French cleat and bring it inside—no mess, no lost materials, no ruined finishes.
This cabinet has been a year in the making, and it has solved a lot of my headaches.
