300: Rise of an Empire is a hack-and-slash action video game developed by Sticky Studios BV and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment in 2014. It was released as a free promotional tie-in for the film 300: Rise of an Empire, the sequel to Zack Snyder’s original 300 movie. In the game, players take control of the Greek general Themistokles, leading the charge against the invading Persian forces in brutal, cinematic-style combat inspired by the visuals and themes of the film.
NoirStation Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ - Now that I’ve played all of the 300 video games, I can confidently say this one is the best of the bunch. It almost feels like a spiritual successor to the 300: March To Glory PSP game, but with faster, more fluid gameplay that makes it a lot more fun overall. The combat is punchier, the pacing is tighter, and it actually feels like you're in the middle of a stylized battlefield ripped straight from the movie. That said, the biggest downside is the lack of content. With only four levels, it feels a bit lazy.
