In this episode of Breakdowns & Beatdowns, we’re taking a wrecking ball to one of the deepest — and most taken-for-granted — assumptions in Christian theology:
⏳ that time is a straight line… and God must exist outside of it.
Most classical arguments for the existence of God — the Cosmological Argument, the Teleological Argument, the Moral Argument — all rely on a very human intuition about cause and effect. A beginning. A before and after. A “first cause.”
But what happens when physics pulls the rug out from under that intuition?
Drawing from concepts explained in lectures inspired by Richard Feynman, this video explores:
why your experience of time is a biological hallucination
how relativity destroys the idea of a universal “now”
why “before the universe” may be a nonsense concept
how the block universe challenges free will, prayer, and divine action
why entropy — not design — gives time its direction
and how theological arguments accidentally smuggle human limitations into cosmic claims
