In this video, I show the real difference between car keys bought on eBay and the correct key your car actually needs. Most people don’t realise how easy it is to buy the wrong key online — the chip can be different, the frequency can be wrong, or the key blade might not even match.
This is the main reason locksmiths don’t like programming eBay keys. We see a lot of customers who turn up with the wrong key, thinking it’s going to save money, but after testing and scanning the key we often find it’s completely incompatible.
