The first day of fall... and the sky fell.
Southern Minnesota was soaked in torrential rains in a 24 hour period from Wednesday night to Thursday night this week. Extensive flood reports started coming in midday Thursday as the state opened it's Emergency Operations Center.
Owatonna, MN (one hour south of the Twin Cities) was one of the hardest hit cities. As of Friday morning, most of the city was without power and over 70 homes had been evacuated.

RAINFALL TOTALS FROM THREE TO SIX INCHES WITH ISOLATED AMOUNTS EXCEEDING OVER NINE INCHES HAD CAUSED MODERATE TO MAJOR FLOODING ALONG THE REDWOOD... MINNESOTA... CHIPPEWA... EAU CLAIRE... ZUMBRO... MINNESOTA AND MISSISSIPPI RIVERS
