This hover which does not use a slingshot or sideflip hovers is my personal strat to get over to the adult side of the spirit temple where the mirror shield is. Using chu hovers against the wall, it's possible to make the hover in only 3 chus.
How to do:
1) Get ISG and go to the corner in the vid.
2) Align the B Button so it's in the middle of the torch. (It doesn't have to be perfect)
3) Pull out a chu and pause buffer to the chu's 11th red flash and backflip shield drop it.
4) For the next two hovers, pause buffer to the frame after the 11th red flash (the chu will be blue) and backflip shield drop them.
5) Backflip once more and you will make it.

An above average run for all Golden Tools. I like this time for now but will attempt sub 2:30 in the future. There were some mistakes but they were simply luck manipulation, no big deal.
There are 4 Golden Tools to get in AC:GC. The Golden Shovel is the easiest, it simply requires making a Golden Tree, not a problem. The Golden Axe is a bit trickier but with extensive knowledge of how the acre system works, its not too bad. Then simply catch the 40 bugs and 40 fish for the Golden Rod and Golden Net!
One of my friends also joins in to watch this run for a paper hes writing for a class about something unique. I guess Im unique so I get to give a history course during the run on speedrunning and my involvement with Animal Crossing and speedrunning over the last 10 years. Not only do I get to demonstrate my extensive knowledge of this game in this category, I also get to explain how the AC speedrunning community came together to be where it is today. A very cool run for both those reasons.

Ive spent weeks of my life trying to get this time and somehow manage to get it in less than 3 hours my first day back speedrunning in a long time. Sweet! Oh and Id like to mention, I say bad game and such like a lot when RNG isnt being nice lol. I dont really mean it, Animal Crossing is the best game ever, just some tough love toward the absurd RNG that occurs in this category.")
