I love 2D games, especially multiplayer ones. They're pretty common in the fighting game scene but in shooters there's lots of them too, but mostly for single player and in multiplayer it doesn't get talked about as much. I talked a bit about them, looking at some old classics like Soldat and CS2D, made at a time where instead of free 2 play you had freeware/open source games, a mostly forgotten concept nowadays but the latter is still going strong.
