The turning of a piece of Pacific Yew. This wood has some very hazardous conditions that are connected to it... The dust is very toxic and is an irritant and a sensitizer. Not recomended for turning with out proper gear! (A Hazmat suit comes to mind!)
That being said... it is a really beautiful wood to work with... the finish you can achieve is phenomenal... and then you put wax on it and it just gleams!
I like the combination of the Yew and the Arbutus... they contrast nicely... the band on the hat was stained with some Scratch Cover and I think ties the two together quite nicely.
