This week’s book is a book I think every creative person needs to read. It’s called “Rebel Without a Crew” by Robert Rodriguez. This is straight from the back of the book “…how did this amateur filmmaker from Texas—with only one camera, no crew, and a budget largely raised by subjecting himself to medical experimentation – manage to complete a feature film for $7,000 and get himself winded and dined by Hollywood’s biggest movie moguls?

This book walks you through his techniques where creativity not cash was what he used for problem solving. With excerpts from the journal he kept making his first feature film “El Mariachi”

If you have a camera and want to make a film, if you have paper and want to write, if you have crayons, or pencils or paints and want to paint then do it. Get started. You get experience by doing – doing whatever it is you want to do. Your first try may not be a success, maybe not the second or third, but nothing will be if you don’t get started.

We may not all have success with our first try, but I can guarantee you, you won’t have any if you don’t get started.
