Wagner Leitmotifs | 22 Love Tragedy : Der Ring Des Nibelungen @wagnerleitmotifs7654 | Uploaded August 2013 | Updated October 2024, 12 hours ago.
This leitmotif is first heard in the second scene of Das Rheingold.
This motif represents events which transgress against love but aren't a renunciation of it, for example it is heard when it appears that Freia is going to be forsaken for Valhalla. It is pretty much the same as Renunciation of Love without the leading note.
