A half satirical treatment of an idea called receipt-based budgeting, the first of a number of real-world economic policies designed to promote the economic growth needed to create a post-satiation economy, looks at prior-year receipts to ensure surpluses nearly every year. With regular surpluses, we could pay off the national debt, reduce and eliminate taxes, and create personal income and retirement accounts for everyone that could end poverty within one to two generations.
Free markets provide a way to end poverty, crime, and war that doesn't require a eugenics war, a nuclear war, warp drive test flights, Vulcans, or troll and monkey logic about human reactions to the discovery of alien life.
