2027S/S 서울패션위크: Timelessness: 빠르게 변하는 트렌드 너머에 남는 것

The 2027 Spring/Summer Seoul Fashion Week opened Tuesday, putting K-fashion creativity in the spotlight.
This season, designers are looking beyond style and spectacle, using the runway to explore the passage of time and the value of what endures.

Swirling movements, accompanied by dynamic lights and immersive music, captivated the audience.
The spectacular performance kicked off 2027 Spring and Summer Seoul Fashion Week, which officially opened Tuesday at Dongdaemun Design Plaza.
This season, 31 brands are taking part in runway shows and presentations, attracting celebrities and audiences from around the world.
17 designer brands are showcasing their collections, kicking off with a brand that reflects this season's theme: the value of what's left behind and what endures over time.
"At some point, I realized that the things we leave behind physically can actually have tremendous value. Instead of throwing away a child’s little drawings from a sketchbook, for instance, we can preserve those moments by putting them on clothing.”

Behind the glamour, a trade show featuring more than 100 K-brands will take place on Wednesday, bringing industry buyers and fashion brands together for business talks.
The event will be divided into two sections: a booth exhibition and showroom tours.
The showroom tours will take place in Seoul’s major fashion districts, including Gangnam, Seongsu, and Hannam, giving international buyers a closer look at K-fashion and a first-hand experience of Seoul’s competitiveness as a global fashion city.
For 8 other designer brands, including July Column, presentations offered another way to showcase their collections.
The brand also explored the theme of ‘Timelessness,’ highlighting the enduring value of what is left behind.
"I think these are stories worth passing down-a well-worn white shirt bearing the traces of my father, or an oversized jacket my mother wore to work. Our everyday lives are filled with things left behind that carry memories and can be reinterpreted.”

Although fashion is often seen as a short-lived industry driven by rapidly changing trends and consumption, this season’s collections invite us to pause, reflect, and question what truly lasts and endures.
