The Triumph Trident has always been one of those bikes that appealed to me, so I was really looking forward to riding the brand-new 2026 Triumph Trident 800.
It features an all-new 800cc triple-cylinder engine, updated styling, more performance and a very competitive price. But does it live up to the hype?
In this review I put it through my usual real-world test. I take it out on my favourite roads, assess the comfort, handling, suspension, engine character and practicality, before putting it through my infamous "lugging-about" test in Great Missenden station car park to see how easy it would be to live with.
By the end of the day I was struggling to find anything I didn't like. It sounds fantastic, feels wonderfully light, has all the performance most riders could want and offers excellent value for money.
Could this be one of Triumph's best middleweight motorcycles yet... and could it even earn a place in my own garage?
