The 2026 Subaru Outback keeps doing the one thing almost no rival still does: it stays a low, lifted, standard-all-wheel-drive wagon instead of a tall box.
Standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and X-MODE on every trim. Two boxer engines: a 182-hp 2.5-liter and a 260-hp 2.4-liter turbo, both through a CVT. Behind the rear seats you get around 32.5 cubic feet, expanding to roughly 75.7 with them folded - bicycles, flat-packs and camping gear territory. We line it up against the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V, and against its smaller sibling, the Subaru Forester.
