Allison and I had the great pleasure of viewing the 2026 Total Solar Eclipse from a vineyard near Peñafiel, Spain, as part of a UCLA Alumni group trip. Eclipse totality lasted 1 min 35 sec late in the day in Peñafiel. We viewed the eclipse from atop the flat roof of the vineyard’s main building, which was covered with rocks.
This video shows a 360 deg (actually 4*pi steradian) view of the eclipse immediately leading up to, during, and following totality. To change the view of the video on a mobile device (phone or tablet), simply reorient the device to the direction you’d like to view. On a desktop or laptop computer, use the curser to reorient the video to the direction you’d like to view.
The video was taken using an Insta360 X3 camera.
