2026 IM LS8 is Finally Here! Walkaround Inside & Out
The 2026 IM LS8 is a full-size luxury SUV that blends extended-range electric technology with premium comfort and cutting-edge engineering. Measuring 5,085 mm long, 2,000 mm wide, and 1,807 mm tall, with a generous 3,060 mm wheelbase, it offers an exceptionally spacious cabin that can accommodate up to six passengers. Instead of directly driving the wheels, its 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine serves as a range extender for the electric powertrain, while the SUV also benefits from an advanced 800-volt electrical architecture that enables ultra-fast charging and improved efficiency.
Performance is impressive across the lineup, with the flagship dual-motor all-wheel-drive models producing 390 kW (523 horsepower) and 670 Nm of torque, allowing the LS8 to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in as little as 4.0 seconds before reaching a top speed of 220 km/h. Buyers can also choose the Max+ rear-wheel-drive version, which delivers 308 horsepower. Battery options include a 66 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) pack or a 52.1 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, providing a pure electric driving range of 355 to 430 km under the CLTC cycle. When the range extender is included, the total driving range reaches an impressive 1,605 km, while DC fast charging replenishes the battery from 30% to 80% in approximately 12 to 17 minutes.
The IM LS8 is equipped with a wide array of premium technologies designed to enhance both convenience and driving dynamics. Its advanced four-wheel steering system features 24-degree rear-wheel steering, reducing the turning radius to just 4.85 meters for remarkable maneuverability despite its large size. Inside, the cabin is powered by the Qualcomm 8295P processor and features a stunning 27.1-inch 5K central display alongside a dedicated 15.6-inch passenger touchscreen. Luxury amenities include zero-gravity front seats with an available 4D massage function for the driver, as well as a dual-zone intelligent refrigerator that adds another layer of comfort for long-distance travel.
