💰 The 2026 Hyundai Kona carries over most of its 2024 redesign, with updates to trims and tech. In the U.S., pricing starts at $25,350 for the SE and climbs to $32,650 for the Limited. In Canada, the lineup starts at $26,749 for the Essential and tops out at $36,699 for the N Line, which includes standard AWD.
💪🏻 My test model is the Kona N Line with the 1.6L turbo, 8-speed automatic and AWD—delivering 190 HP and 195 lb-ft, a massive improvement over the base 2.0L/CVT combo. Sport Mode isn’t “whiplash fun,” but the turbo gives this subcompact some character, especially with paddle shifters and AWD stability.
⛽️ Fuel economy isn’t significantly different between FWD vs AWD. The FWD 2.0L Kona averages 31 MPG, while this turbo AWD model averages 28 MPG. My real-world fuel result? 8.9L/100km (26 MPG) by staying in Normal Mode and avoiding unnecessary throttle.
🔥 Inside, the Kona surprises for its price. My N Line features heated/ventilated seats, a digital 12.3” driver cluster, 12.3” touchscreen with CarPlay/Android Auto, wireless hotspot, BOSE audio, adjustable cupholders and a useful dual-level cargo floor. Rear passengers get vents, USB-C ports and generous legroom for the segment.
🧳 Cargo space is a strong point: 723L (25.5 cu ft) seats up, and 1,803L (63.7 cu ft) folded. The two-level cargo floor adds flexibility, while top trims include SmartTrunk, which opens hands-free—no kicking required.
