In 30deg (90deg F) ambients, Kimi looked superb throughout the short, undulating lap, finishing the afternoon over half a second ahead of Russell. McLaren-Mercedes ran P2-P3 with Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris; Max Verstappen was fourth fastest for Red Bull-RBPT Ford, ahead of Sir Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari; and George, in the other works Mercedes, was only sixth.
