BMW’s first series-production Neue Klasse model is here. The 2026 BMW iX3 debuts Gen6 BMW eDrive with a cylindrical-cell battery, 800V architecture, and 400 kW DC fast charging—good for ~230 miles in about 10 minutes and 10–80% in ~21 minutes. The launch iX3 50 xDrive packs 463 hp (dual-motor AWD), an estimated 0–60 mph in ~4.7s, and up to an estimated ~400 miles of range (per preliminary BMW AG tests based on EPA procedures).
In this in-depth walkaround and review, I focus on the practical details buyers care about: dimensions (188.3/74.6/64.4 in; 114.1-in wheelbase), aero (Cd 0.24), cargo space (30.4–65.0 cu ft) + 2.0 cu ft frunk, interior storage, seating and materials, steering wheel options, iDrive X with BMW Panoramic iDrive/Panoramic Vision, charging and port standards (NACS + CCS adapter), bi-directional charging (V2L/V2H/V2G), towing (up to 4,400 lbs), wheel sizes (20–22 in), and the latest driver assistance including Highway Assistant up to 85 mph with eye-activated lane change.

Production & timing: Built at BMW Group Plant Debrecen (Hungary). US production begins Q1 2026, with US deliveries targeted for mid-2026 and pricing expected to start around $60,000 (est.).
