Korean Dad is a small Korean restaurant in Veazie, Maine, founded in May 2021. The owner, Changsu Kristopher "Kris" Lee, is a full-time faculty member at Eastern Maine Community College, teaching mathematics and business. This is Lee's passion project, which opens once a week for a few hours. Korean Dad serves both authentic and contemporary Korean dishes. The Korean Dad building, located at 1492 State Street in Veazie, Maine, also provides space for new entrepreneurs at an inexpensive monthly rate. It functions as a restaurant incubator, where tenants start small and grow their presence over months or years. Once established, they move on to their own restaurant space in the area. Notable tenants who ran their start-up restaurants at the Korean Dad building and have since opened their own restaurants are Katahdin Kitchen and Dreamer. Shamee in Maine and Torrey's Muffins and Cookies will open their restaurants soon. Ca C'est Bon, a food truck that serves a Cajun menu, was a tenant at Korean Dad. Waffle Wednesday, a former tenant, also operates its business locally.
