Next 13-14 Dec. 2025, the Geminid meteor shower will reach its peak. We will show those shooting stars live online: join us from the comfort of your home!
Geminids are the best meteor shower of the year, quite neglected by the audience because of the cold, winter temperatures, but it is very spectacular. Quite interestingly, the Geminids - so called because the apparent source of their trails, the radiant, is placed in the constellation of Gemini (the Twins) - originates from a near-Earth asteroid, (3200) Phaethon, a rare circumstance making them very special.
This year, a 30% Moon will rise about 2.5 hours after local midnight, luckily it will not impact significantly on the show.
We will set up a special, very large field of view equipment in Manciano, under the darkest skies of Italy and will share the view in real-time!
We scheduled a live feed on 13 Dec. 2025, starting at 21:00 UT.
