Each year, NREL captures these changes a suite of forward-looking scenarios of the U.S. power sector, called the Standard Scenarios. Celebrating the products 10th annual release, NREL’s 2024 Standard Scenarios is now available, marking a decade of modeling least-cost electricity futures for the United States. The latest release includes 61 forward-looking scenarios covering technology, policy, and market variations, including new 100% lifecycle CO₂-equivalent decarbonization scenarios.
