In the fall of 2023, Officer Edward Butterworth, Sr. of the Norristown Police Department responded to call of a vehicle that had drove into the Schuylkill River with two individuals inside. When Officer Butterworth arrived onscene, he quickly dove into the water to attempt a rescue.
