The European market is about to get even more exciting for car enthusiasts with the arrival of the all-new BMW M135i. This new model is part of BMW’s shift toward the next generation of the 1 Series, including both the regular and performance versions. The design has evolved, but the M135i remains instantly recognizable, featuring a sleek, aggressive look that emphasizes its sporty nature. The front end sports sharper headlights, and the rear taillights appear similar to those found on the X2 model. The M Performance version also adds a quad exhaust system borrowed from the X1 and X2 M35i models, highlighting the vehicle's sporty intent.

Interestingly, BMW is gradually moving away from the use of the letter “i” in its naming convention for gasoline-powered models. This new M135 will simply display “M135” on its rear, signifying the start of this transition. On the outside, you will find M-specific design elements like the side mirror caps, glossy black accents, and a more aggressive kidney grille. The cabin follows suit with major updates, featuring a fully digital experience thanks to BMW’s iDrive 9 infotainment system with dual screens. The once-popular iDrive rotary knob has been removed to create a more minimalist feel, or, as some might say, a cost-saving measure.

Inside, the M135i is fitted with illuminated M-branded seats, bringing a touch of M car luxury. The vegan-friendly interior reflects the modern focus on sustainability. Under the hood, the M135i packs a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, producing up to 312 horsepower in certain markets, offering an impressive 0-62 miles per hour time of 4.9 seconds. This exciting new model will be available in Europe starting October 2024, with production taking place in Leipzig, Germany. BMW’s latest hot hatch promises to blend performance, style, and technology in a truly European package.
