My Stormchasing 2020 forecast / Spring 2020 Tornado forecast. This is intended to be a fun, but academic exercise into tornado climatology and attempting to apply that to an upcoming 2020 Tornado Season. And yes, heavy on memes too.
Suffering from Supercell Deprivation Syndrome? Need Hype? Love Airplane! You've come to the right odd duck youtube science channel.
Forecasting tornadoes 4 months in advance is nearly comical, and so this video is, well, almost funny. You'd be just as well off asking Puxatony Phil about how this season will go.
Though I did pretty well with Tornado season 2019, so.
If you ask me, I think 1990 is the season to watch for. A stout and early season, with not too shabby of a late season either.
How many tornadoes in 2020? I'm calling for slightly below average. Years like this USUALLY have weak counts.
This year I took into account the teleconnections. I don't like them as much but I know a lot of people take stock in them for shorter range predictions, and longer range crystal-balling.

This video took longer to construct than any other I've done, though "how I spent my chasecation" is a very close second. I need to reverse this trend.

Special thanks to Andy B, John H, Bigly Joe, DevinWX, and SDS Therapy Center for their contributions, musings and technical criticism. And thanks to my wife for all the help, or tolerance, with this one!
