finally, an explanation for my lack of uploads these past few years. other than the pandemic and extreme depression, anyways. i have been editing, but i've been unable to finish anything good. however, i'm pretty proud of what is here. some of these i really want to finish, and plan on doing so. some of them i have lost inspiration for, but i still hold them close to me, these are all some of my favorite songs and i was really excited to edit to them at the time. unfortunately due to youtube's upload limit i wasn't able to include all of my betas from these past few years, i might either do a second video for them or upload them individually on my backup channel since i'm not quite as proud of those. i did start a few live action videos but wasn't able to include those either. let me know which ones are your favorite and i'll see if i can finish them! the ones near the end are far more likely to be finished since i started them more recently.
0:00 - interstate 8 by modest mouse (one of my favorite songs of all time, had a lot of fun with the trippy coloring and just letting the clips flow, sad i probably won't finish this since a lot of the rest of the song is instrumental)
2:16 - disconnect by basement (this song has always made me think of TLK, so i tried to tell the story of the movie in this video, i actually have it mostly finished)
4:09 - stockholm syndrome by blink-182 (i have had the idea for this video since 2015-2016. i'm still a bit shakey on if i wanna keep this coloring but i wanted something with a polarizing vibe. i plan to use bambi and his father for the 2nd half of the song if i finish this)
5:16 - we are beautiful, we are doomed by los campesinos! (not much to say for this one haha it's short but i had fun)
5:33 - spitting venom by modest mouse (another one of my fav songs from an all time fav album, i'm honestly really proud of what i have here but i didn't expect to get far since the full song's 8 and a half minutes...)
6:33 - glass coughs by foxing (i kind of wish i had better coloring and transitions for this one but eh)
7:27 - little motel by modest mouse (same as spitting venom, really wanted to finish this since this song/movie combo gives me feels about TLK2 and kovu's relationship with kiara vs. the abuse he endured from zira. maybe i will finish it someday)
8:39 - i lost my life by prince daddy & the hyena (i basically have the whole thing done except for the loud segment which is supposed to have a lot of fast clips so this will prob never get done lol. this song's rad, heard it live twice)
10:01 - won't drown by foxing (another all time fav song. i was really pumped to finish this at one point but the full song's 4-5 mins and i'm lazy so it kinda died. maybe it'll see the light of day but prob not. i'm v proud of the beginning though. kinda wanna try some new stuff w text and effects)
11:36 - mama, i'm swollen by cursive (was just kinda playing around w this one, there's a lot of empty spaces)
12:22 - sunny day by abandoned pools (same as the last one, i just really liked this song and this was kind of a vent i guess? wanted to do cool color stuff but i'm too lazy to actually make the colors change hah)
12:48 - misguided ghosts by paramore (very important song to me, and lemme say i'm v proud of the coloring here and how it looks w the overlay. this was also a vent i guess, so i probably won't finish it but i might)
13:42 - acolyte by slaughter beach, dog (i really reeeally wanna finish this one, i've only finished this segment so far but i'm doing the whole song n also using kovu/kiara and angel/scamp so hopefully i can push through)
14:19 - old lumina by flatsound (this is actually the oldest beta here and dates back to 2018, some of you may remember it from one of my last big beta collections. i wanted to put the whole beta here but the upload limit made that impossible, so i just put the parts of it that i hadn't shown people before. this one is almost done, i think i have like a minute left of footage to add? but since it's a sort of fast paced song with a lot of clips and transitions it'll probably take me a while, i'd really love to finish this one though bc gay feelings)
